Hopkins Students Examine Beinecke Manuscripts

Students from Jacqueline LaBelle's Art History class at the Hopkins School in New Haven CT spent the morning viewing manuscripts and printed materials in Arabic, Latin, Old French and English. They looked at a thirteenth century Koran (Arabic MSS suppl. 80), a fourteenth century Bestiary (Beinecke MS 851), the renound thirteenth century Arthurian Romance (Beinecke MS 229), and a beautiful fifteenth century Hebrew copy of Job, Proverbs and the Psalms (Beinecke MS 409).
